For maths today we solved fraction equations. First we solved the first three with our teacher (Ms Kirkpatrick) then we could choose if we would stay on the mat or go work by yourself. Mataio and I chose to stay on the mat because we still didn't quite get what we had to do. We did 5 more then we had to do the last 2 by ourselves. I think this task was bit hard at first but it got easy at the end.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson.

Electives
As part of our math task we were solving out a math problem given by Miss Kirkpatrick. I was working collaboratively with Mikihiro and Ofa. For this problem we used our multiplication, division and subtraction skills and were lucky to get the right answers. At first we were struggling because we didn't understand it so we read it twice and wrote all the key points from the problem. After trying a few times we figured the answer out. Today I learnt how to use my times table facts to find a fraction of a set.

Screencastify - Finding Fractions Of An Amount
On Friday we had Mrs Grant teaching LS2 how to use screencastify. We were screencastifying our maths strategies. For this we first wrote our scripts, then we clicked on the Screencastify extension. After that we started recording. Setting this up took long, but we did it. It was great learning a new way to learn and share our work.

Maths Problem: Shopping Spree - 2
Today for our second activity Tiava and I had to make our own maths problem and share it with another pair so they can try and solve it. We used our fraction and percentage skills to come up with these equations.

Shopping Spree
Today for maths our group was working on fractions and percentages. In pairs we had to solve 7 questions. Four questions were on percentages and the other the were on fractions. For me I found that finding out the discount prices was the hardest.
