Food Tech

Today we had our 5th session of food tech with Mrs Tuipolotu. We were really excited to make muffins because this was our second time cooking it, and we know how delicious they are. We followed the 3 instructions that were compulsory which is follow the instructions, correctly measure the ingredients and being able to read the ingredients properly. I worked with Josh S to cook 12 chocolate chip muffins and we enjoyed cooking together. Thank you to Mrs Tuipolotu for teaching us how to cook Chocolate Chip Muffins.

Tech - Cooking

This week at cooking Tech the year 8b group made muffins. Josh and I were happy because we both loved eating muffins. We had individual jobs which had to be done in a certain time. I was putting in all the ingredients in a large bowl while Josh was turning on the oven and getting our muffin line up ready. At the end Josh and I had 6 pieces of muffins each. The recipe for our muffins is. I think this was a great session because we did everything correct and finished in time.

Tech Reflection: Cooking

This week, we had our 2nd rotation at Tech. We are doing cooking. For our first session we cooked pancakes. But, first we needed to get into partners and get out all the materials that we needed. My partner was Josh. Then one person needed to go get the flour, sugar, milk, eggs and mix it all together. The second person needed to turn the stove on and heat up the oil in the frying pan. After the ingredients were mixed, we were to pour a little bit  of the mixture into the frying pan and had to make sure it did not burn. Once we finished my partner Josh and I each had four Pancakes. I think our pancakes turned out great and was really delicious.

Art - Tech

Today LS2 had the first Tech session and everyone was really excited to get on the bus for Tamaki College. We were split up into 3 groups, I was in year 8 group B. I was with Mrs Telefoni doing art. Today as one of our we listed of everyday symbols we see for example I always see Mc Donald's when I go to my house sometimes. After that we had our second task. For this task we had to create a googles slide showing our own symbols that represent something about us like our hobbies, culture, or traditions.

PE at Tamaki College

On Friday the year 7 and 8 students from Panmure Bridge School stayed at Tamaki College after our normal Tech session. We then got split into three different groups. The three groups were PE, Social Science and Robotics. I was in PE. Our teacher was Mr Moyes. To start off our session we played a game called infinity tag. In this game everyone is it. For example if you get tagged and another person tags your tagger, you can get back up. Also if you and another person tag each other at the same time, you have to do rock, paper, scissors. After that game we played Bench ball. The aim of this game was to get every one on your team on the bench. We had try and throw the ball to our teammates to get on the bench. To end the session we played a fun game of Samoan Softball. It's like softball but we could either kick the ball or hit it with our hand. If you hit the ball you need to run to the other side of the court and then come back without getting hit with the ball. Much Obliged to Mr Moyes and Tamaki College for making that day happen. Everyone had a blast and can't wait for next year.

Tech - Digitech

Today at Tech our group were starting our very own animated story on scratch. To help us remember the steps we had to check the instruction we made for making an animated story. Our topic was healthy living in the Tamaki community. I think the start of my animated story is great because I got all the steps right. I learnt how to make an animated story on scratch. I enjoyed doing the animated story because it was something new to me.

DigiTech: Problems, Solution and Timeframes

Needs and Opportunities - Problems and Solutions (Brainstorm)

For our Needs and Opportunities task we had to talk about the healthy living in the Tamaki Community. We had to name some problems of healthy living in the Tamaki Community and get solutions.

Key Stages and Timeframes (Plan of Action)

The timeframes show how long an activity takes to complete. For example there are activities that 1 lesson and there are other activities that take 2 - 4 lessons.

Tech - Digital Tech

Today at Digital Tech we were completing our DLO on the Moana Hour Of Code game. I reached level 11. Every level we finished we had to write a little blurb about it. The hardest level I faced was level 10 because I could only move six times. Luckily my friend Zane helped me otherwise I would still be on that level. My Favorite level was level 1 because it was really easy. If you want to play the game click here.

Tech - New Rotation - Digital Tech

Today we had our tech rotation. My group went to digital tech. Our teacher was Ms Anderson. Today we made our own site. I thought my site was pretty cool. After we made our site we played a game called Moana. In the game we had to figure out how many times we had to move to catch the fish. Each level we finished we had to write something about it.

Tech - Designs

This morning we went to tech. Today we were making our jewelry designs on tinkercad. I found it hard to make my design because it was hard to find the shapes. Next we drew some animals. The thing I found hard was the face because I could not make the nose. I thought tech was really fun today because I tried new thing and had fun doing it.

Tech

For tech this week we were learning how to use tinkercad properly by making an eye. After we finished the eye we started making a person using only shapes . I thought my person did not look like a human because it had no hands and no mouth.
