Challenge 4: Make a puzzle
WALT made observations about effort and load.
Look at these two pictures. What do you see?
What kind of puzzle is this? Tangram
These puzzles are made from paper. Your challenge is to make your own set from wood.
What simple machine will you need? Wedge and Screw
What other tools will you need? Ruler, Pencil, Rubber and knife.
Instructions for making the puzzle will come from Mr Wong.
The learning tasks that need to be completed while you are not making the puzzle are:
- Write an information report about the puzzle. Use these questions to help with ideas for your report:
- where did it originate? In china
- when did it become widely known? It was became old but widely known in 1813
- who plays with them today? Mostly kids use it for maths and making stuff out of shapes E.G They make houses out of shapes.
- Find some shapes (puzzles) to challenge each other with when you have made the puzzles.
This is my challenge 4 simple machines work that I did with Sylis. I had to answer these questions first and then I made poster of a wedge. I learnt how to use a wedge and some facts.
