Recount on Elephant tooth paste

On Wednesday Miss Kirkpatrick's friend from Edge water college came to our school to teach us how to make elephant toothpaste. She was wearing safety clothes so she doesn't get burnt. The ingredients we used were hydrogen peroxide, detergent and potassium iodide. First she got a cylinder so you can measure how much hydrogen peroxide. Then once we pour 100 ml of hydrogen peroxide we put a little bit of detergent on the hydrogen peroxide it changes color. After that we put the potassium iodide and that made it fizz up. It was slowly getting out of the cylinder and when it nearly  reached the top it it went faster. It looked like foam when it was getting out.

Then after that we tried to do it in a bottle. We made predictions that it is not going to get more foam than the cylinder and some people said it is because it had a smaller top. She put poured hydrogen peroxide In the cylinder to measure 100 ml then when she did that she poured it in the bottle. She put some detergent on the  hydrogen peroxide. After that we put the potassium iodide in the bottle it did the same but more slowly and when it nearly reached the it EXPLODED out of the bottle. There was more that got out of it than the cylinder. If we touched the foam and rub in our hands it will make our hands yellow and it will make it smelly.
