Freeman and Fraidon Maths Follow up

1)Use the strategy of splitting a number into parts to do these        additions.
2) Do the problems in your head first.
3) Check you are correct by writing them down. Show them like the examples above.

1) 28 + 14 split 14 into 12 + 2 and then make 28 into a tidy number by adding 2. 28 + 14 = 28 +12 + 2 = 20 + 12 = 32

2) 76 + 9 = 76 + 5 + 4 = 80 + 5 = 85

3) 37 + 15 = 37 + 10 + 5 = 40 + 10 = 50 +5 = 55

4) 46 + 17 =  46 + 10 + 7 = 56+ 7= 63

5) 68 + 24= 68 + 22 + 2 = 70 + 22 = 82

6) 48 + 37 = 48 + 35 + 2 = 50 + 35 = 85

7) 29 + 62 = 29 + 61 + 1= 30 + 61=91

8) 18 + 63= 18 + 61+2=20+61=81

(9) 55 + 17 =  55+15+2=57 + 15=72

(10) 29 + 54 =   54 + 6 + 23 = 60 + 23 = 83

(11) 38 + 17 =    38 + 15 + 2=41 + 15=56

(12) 37 + 54 =   54 + 31 +6 =60 + 31 = 91

(13) 69 + 73 = 69 + 1 + 72 = 70 + 72 = 142

(14) 78 + 45 = 78 + 43 + 2 = 80 + 43 = 123

(15) 27 + 57 = 27 + 54 + 3 = 30 + 54 = 84

16) 19 + 64 = 64 +10 + 9 = 64 + 10 = 74 +9 = 84

(17) 27 + 46 =   27+43+3= 30+43=73

(18) 38 + 75 =   38+ 73+2=40 + 73= 103

19) 47 + 86 = 86 + 43 + 4 =   90
(20) 34 + 68 =  68 + 30 + 4= 72 + 4 = 76 + 30 = 106

(21) 58 + 86   =   86 + 50 + 8 = 94 + 50=144

22) 38 + 74 =  74+30+8=82+30=112

(23) 95 + 29 = 95 + 20 + 9 = 104 + 20 = 124

(24) 88 + 36 = 88 + 30 + 6 = 94 + 30 = 124
This is the maths follow up that Freeman and I did. I learnt some new skills on how to solve a addition problem
