This week for Reading, Mr Wong's groups read a text called Comets. Then we had to skim and scan for some words that we do not know and then we had to put the words on the group slide. We then split into groups of 2 and took 3 words each from our list. We had to use Find, Draw, Animate Act for each of our words. My partners were Jack, Sanujan, Mataio and Tai.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson.

L.I: How do words work to make a picture in our mind
This week for writing as a whole class we did poems. For our writing we had to learn how to use Noun's, Adjective's, Verb's and Adverb's. But first we had to get in groups of four and work together to find out what Noun's, Adjective's, Verb's and Adverb's are. Then we had to get 2 example's of Noun's, Adjective's, Verb's and Adverb's. Later we had to write a poem in our groups follow the steps that Mr Ogilvy taught us. We used a Noun from the 2 example's we got then we had to add some Adjective's, Verb's and Adverb's to our poem. The Must do was the same thing but we had to make one by ourselves using the same process. I learnt that a Noun is used to describe something, someone or somewhere. An Adjective is a word that describes a Noun or Pronoun. Then a Verb is a word used to describe a action, state, incident or an event. Finally an Adverb is an Adjective describing a verb.

Addition
This is group wanaka's task for this week. We first played a game with money. Mr Ogilvie gave our group each $10,000. Then we had to think of of something we could buy with the money. For example if I get a 60 inch TV it might be $5699. We had to find out how much money we would be left with when we buy the TV. After all that we were sent off to do a task on Transum.

Ancient and Modern Olympics
L.I - We are learning to compare and contrust Ancient and Modern Olympics.
Today for inquiry Pote, Ofa, and I finished our Ancient and Modern Olympic Task. Before doing the task we had to write our prior knowledge and what we know about Ancient and Modern Olympics. After doing that we had to attribute images. We attributed two images of ancient Olympic and two pictures of modern Olympic and 3 for other images for fun. After attributing images soon we had to write down words from A to Z related to Olympics. For example for F we did flags. After that we wrote facts about Modern and Ancient Olympics and also made a Venn diagram comparing the difference and similarities of Modern and Ancient Olympic.

Word web
L.I - To find related words
This a word web that i did with Jack, Sanujan and Tai. This week Mr Wong's groups read a book called How to make a non-polluting car. while reading the book if we had words that we did not understand we had to write them on a peace of paper and at the end we all gathered together and found out the meaning for the words. I learnt that mimic means copying someone for example if I am talking someone is saying the exact words that I am saying. At first I was really struggling what the word means then at the end I found out.

rocket ship game
L.I - We were learning to aply our knowledge in place value.
Today Mr Ogilvy's groups played blast off. We got into groups or pairs and then we played the game. My partner was Abdurrahim (to see his rocket ship click on his name). To play the game you need a chrome book and a dice, but if you don't have one you can use a white board. You roll the dice and what ever number you get you have to put it small to big. As you can see there is 100, 10 and 1 at the top. I have that so people will know the place value. I learnt place value.
