For tech this week we were learning how to use tinkercad properly by making an eye. After we finished the eye we started making a person using only shapes . I thought my person did not look like a human because it had no hands and no mouth.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Ms Kirkpatrick and Mrs Anderson.

Making an Eye from from cylinders - Tech
Today for tech we learnt how to make an eye using one shape. The shape we made an eye with was a cylinder. We did this on Tinkercad. I found this quite useful because I might need it in the future. While we were making our shape we had to align and group the shapes.

Camp - Photo Story
Today we had to make a photo story reflecting on camp. These are the photos of my activity group during all the different and cool activities. It also shows us participating and contributing. The activity I enjoyed the most was orienteering because I was reading the map properly and I was able to find all the controls in time.

Kokako - Infographic
Today Oh Hsen and I collected information on the north island kokako. There are two types of kokako birds, the north island and the south island bird. We researched about the north island kokako because the place we went for camp is called Kokako Lodge. I learnt that north island kokako can be found in South Auckland and Waikato.

Kiwi sport - Tennis and Fustal
Futsal was really fun today because we went over to the riverside sports club and played tennis and futsal on the actual pitches. I found tennis a little hard because it was my first time playing tennis. I know I did not do that well at tennis but I learnt some new skills and had fun. After we had futsal. Everyone was split into one of the three teams Black, Red and White. I was put in the black. First up was team red vs team white. It was a tough game but the white team won by one point. Next it was our turn to vs the white team. We did lot's of great passes and a pass from Daniel to me made a goal when I blasted the ball and it went to the top right corner. The next goal I scored was with the help of Ofa. He played a nice through ball for me then I smashed it to the bottom left corner. I was a fun game and we won 2 - 0. Then for our last game we played the red team. We all passed it around everybody got the ball and before we knew it it was 1 - 0. Daniel ran and struck the ball to the top left corner. Our team was really tired and right after Daniel's goal the red team scored a banger smashing it through our goalie's legs. It was tied up and there was 30 seconds remaining, I got the ball and blasted it to the bottom left corner.

Towering Stand
My heart was racing nearly as quick as light. I checked my harness for the one hundredth time before I decided it was safe for me to go up. Each step I took my heart beat faster and faster. Finally I reached the top. I wanted to see how high I was, then that’s when it hit me. My heart was banging and I stood there frozen like a mannequin.
I could not do anything, then I heard my friends cheering me on. After that I said to myself “I can do this!' Each step I took it got more intense than before I knew it I reached the other side. I was so happy that I made it! The instructor told me I had to walk backwards to the middle. I took one step after another and I got a bit scared but after a couple of steps of fear I got there.
When I reached the point of no return I spread my wings and flew to the ground. I was so happy that I could hug someone.
This is a recount about my favourite moment at camp.

People living in Auckland have been asked to Conserve water. Why?
This morning we started with inquiry. Recently Auckland was asked to conserve water. over 415 million litres of water was wasted. We had to find out why. We then had to make a DLO about Conservation in Auckland. We had to include why we need to conserve water, how we can do that and what are the consequences of wasting water.

Tech
Today I finished my planning for my necklace that i'm making for my mum. Today so far was my favorite day at tech because we used the laser cutter. The thing i was struggling on this session was cutting out the patterns.

Odering Decimals
Today I played a game that is ordering decimals. I found it easy and quit tricky. The tricky bit was the balloons went really fast and the easy bit was that I could get it right all the time because I knew my decimals

Explanation - Why my blog is unique
A blog is an incredible place where people around the world see and comment on your learning. My blog is unique because it has my thinking and ideas, and it is non-identical to other blogs. Did you know that not all blogs have the same features?
My blog is special because it displays all my learning from 2014 when it came alive. During those years I shared my work 310 times with a global audience. That means I have shared my work 310 times with the world! Around 9,500 people have seen my blog since the day it was born.
Each blog post has 3 main parts to it. A title, a blurb and labels. My title tells people what my post is about. This is important because when the social media sees it they’ll understand what you did. The blurb is a short summary that tells what I have been learning. This is important because it helps my audience understand what I was learning. I label each post so that my work is easy to find. For example if I post a poem I label the poem in my writing folder.
There is a comments section under each post. The comments help you to connect with other people and their blogs. You use the comments sections to give feedback and feedforward. That means you find out what people liked about your work and sometimes they give you ideas to work on. If I reply we can have a learning conversation. That’s better than writing in a book that only your teacher can see.
My blog is original because it has a timeline of my learning since I was in year four. The best part is that you can't throw your blog away but you can throw your books away.
For the past 2 and half weeks we have been learning how to write an explanation. Our topic was to write why a blog is unique. Blogs hold our learning over time and keep a record. I had fun writing because I learnt how to write an explanation.

Omaru River Poster
For inquiry, we had to make a positive and negative poster on the omaru river. Thanks to help of Daniel we got it done quickly. He did the positive things and I did negative things about omaru river. I learnt that sewage leaks happen because of blockage caused by wet wipes.
